My daughter was really excited about her sparkly magenta manicure this weekend. She exclaimed that her nails were just like jewels and I agree!
Here’s a close-up of Evie’s nail colour. It’s called Lotus Elise and it’s from Rescue Beauty Lounge. RBL polishes are 5-free, so they don’t have any of the scary chemicals that nail polishes used to include. I recommend checking the ingredients of any cosmetic product before allowing a child to use it. It’s probably not such a bad idea to take a look at the ingredients before using cosmetics on yourself as well.
don’t mind the scuffs, someone struggles slightly with the “don’t touch anything until they’re dry” bit.
I’m sporting “Oh Slap!”, also from RBL. What can I say, RBL just had their half-off sale. 😅 I was tempted to try Lotus Elise on myself as well, but unfortunately, this colour isn’t quite office appropriate. Oh Slap! on the other hand, is a translucent pink jelly that’s very wearable anywhere. I have two coats on here, but I think that it would look better with a third.
cutest manicure model ever.
Rescue Beauty Lounge.
Other things grunge. But to be fair, this polish predates the fall runway obsession. It’s actually a very nice wear-to-work colour/color (US). This RBL polish is easy to apply and comes out a putty colour, similar to the way it looks in the bottle.

The struggle adds to the beauty. This video is not about limitations, but the divinity that can be found when joys in life are discovered. You don’t have to be Michelangelo to share your love of creating art. The passion shines through.
As you have probably realized by now, the Etsy store has been in vacation mode for quite some time. I may get things started again towards the end of the summer, or this hiatus may end up being permanent. Between work and life there just isn’t that much time to run even a small internet shop.
But that being said, I am at my computer . . . well constantly. And I have been seriously considering turning Paint by Numbers into a blog covering topics like fashion and beauty products, and some photography (I miss my old Vox blog). I’m definitely open to suggestions.
Although the polish looks black in this picture it is actually Dior Blue Label. The beads are from the black Ciate caviar kit, and I used Illamasque Kink for the base. Interesting combination. It’s too bad that the caviar pearls aren’t water resistant.
I have decided to launch some limited edition sets of mini polishes. These polishes are being handmade bottle by bottle. I’m adding them to the Etsy site as they are made. If you have any requests for sold out colors, or if you would like to see one of these “sample” colors take off, this is the place to put in any requests.
Here are the latest colors, Little Pink Star No. 14 and Blue Nova No. 15.
I have been playing around with the concepts for these for quite sometime. Although I always envisioned Little Pink Star as a lighter pink, I accidentally mixed too much pigment, and couldn’t go back to the original plan when I saw the crazy and stunning result. They are available for purchase at the Etsy site.
